Writing Reflection #9

This past week, we started twitter accounts and are tweeting our "Things to Do Before I Die" list (bucket list). I found I was self-conscience about tweeting @theburiedlife, because my bucket list is pretty generic and I don't have any heartfelt wants. When I say heartfelt wants I mean I don't have a wish to find a lost parent or wishes of that sort. What I do like about twitter is that I can see any tweets with the hash tag #ourburiedlife, which are the tweets by fellow classmates about their bucket lists. My goal of the upcoming, is to tweet more of my bucket list, because I have only tweeted four in the past week and we should be tweeting one daily. My bucket list is at 50 in my RWN (readers writers notebook) and I have more to write! When I really get into the right state of "Things to Do Before I Die" mind set I can think of another 50 easy. In my next 50 things I add to my list I would like to think outside of the box. If I ever have money, the tasks that are outside of the box will be once in a life time and very exciting. It seems if I had money, my bucket list would be easier to accomplish.

How Ironic... (#31)

A Letter from the Principal taped to the bathroom door
Soooo, after four years (and maybe more) they have decided to fix the tap that doesn't work in my favourite bathroom! Oh, and the stall that does not have a lock on the door!

I guess a little note goes a long way, who knew?

More Inspiring Graffiti (#30)

Even though this is all graffiti, I am beginning to like these messages. These messages are unique, because they are talking about the ideas of beauty in today's society. In today's society, beauty is portrayed through celebrities, magazines, and commercials. These messages have it right on when they say women need to accept their true beauty and to not follow what society deems beauty.

Someone has added a creative way to say that true beauty is hidden by what society deems beautiful.

Someone else speaks what I was concerned about. I was concerned that the girls who wrote the first messages could have been written by girls who were being hypocritical. When I say hypocritical I mean girls who "subscribe to and enforce societal images of beauty." (taken word from word from the wall post) This message continues to state that girls need to trust their own true beautyand keep away from what society deems beautiful!

School Complaints 101 (#29)

Low Key PDA

PDA (Public Display of Affection):

In high school, teenagers with high hormones feel they need to be attached to their significant other. There are hallways, corners, and stairwells that I avoid due to these couples who are constantly touching. Even in one of the school assembly this boy in front of me felt it was necessary to kiss his girlfriends ear! (Major EW)

Out of Order Sink

Bathroom Sink:

For the four years I have attended my high school, there is one bathroom I particularly like and always use! In this washroom is four sinks and for four years the same sink has not worked! Guess what? Even though I know it doesn't work I still find myself trying to turn it on! You would thing I would remember, but nope.

Inspiring Graffiti, Hey or Nay? (#28)

Bathroom Stall in my school

In the ladies washroom's around my school, some students have taken it upon themselves to help every female feel inspired. Some would call the words they right on the bathroom stall inspiring. I am not really on board, because it's form graffiti. The graffiti has seem too have become very popular after our school was so moved after an assembly by Robb Nash. Robb Nash talked about how individuals are not confident with there image and do not feel they have a purpose. He continued by being very insightful and continually informing us everyone has a purpose! Is there a connection to Robb Nash's assembly and the inspiring graffiti? I am not sure. Personally, I do not feel inspired after reading the words on a bathroom stall, but it might be due to the fact it is graffiti, which I am not a fan of. I also just get the bad feeling that the girls who wrote this are not doing it for the good!

Newspaper Blackout Poetry - Tragedies

Tragedies

My theme and title of my blackout newspaper poetry is Tragedies. Every poem reflects the theme, because with almost every major tragedy there is death, survival, and memories. This theme was easy to create multiple poems with, because in a newspaper most of the stories are tragedies.

Death:

" Victim found in the city's hospital pronounced dead minutes after her throat was cut on Valentine's Day."

 Survival:

"For somewhere a child searches for who's responsible of the tragedy or someone who saw the older boy visit the family they can't find. I'm a lost child in pain."

 Memories:

"The one survivor made it because of determination and for the first time he remembers the dead bodies of the trapped men in the smoke"
